The Channel Tunnel Group Limited (CTGL also known as Eurotunnel) has today been fined £2.25 million after pleading guilty to an offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, which followed an investigation and prosecution by industry regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

Network Rail has today been fined £3.41m and ordered to pay costs of £43,096.39 after pleading guilty to an offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, which followed an investigation and prosecution by industry regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

At the Central Criminal Court (the Old Bailey) in London, Transport for London (TfL) and Tram Operations Limited (TOL) have today been fined a total of £14m after pleading guilty to offences under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, which followed an investigation and prosecution by industry regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

A train driver has been found guilty of breaching Section 7a of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, following a prosecution brought by the Office of Rail and Road.

The first court hearing for the Office of Rail and Road's prosecution relating to the Croydon tram crash took place today at Croydon Magistrates' Court.

Railway infrastructure company, VolkerRail Ltd. has been fined £550,000 after pleading guilty to an offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 after an investigation and prosecution by industry regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

Network Rail has been fined £1.4 million for a health and safety breach after an investigation by the Office of Rail and Road. ORR found failings that led to a worker being crushed between the conveyor of a 25 tonne ‘Superboss’ ballast distributor (see image) and Kubota people carrier.
