Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone who works with us. We value the diversity of all our staff and the enrichment this brings to our community.

Our strategy and approach to equal opportunities set out our commitment to promote equality and diversity for all staff regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, nationality, race, religious belief (or no belief) and sexual orientation.

We have received the Bronze Award from the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei ) for embedding diversity and inclusion at ORR.

Diversity Network

Our Diversity Network is a secure space where we encourage members and interested parties to explore relevant topics and ideas.

The network also works with the UK Regulators Network (UKRN) diversity group, to learn from others and share good practice.

The Next Generation Non-Executive Directors Scheme is a 12-month programme
involving organisations that are part of the UK Regulators Network.

The scheme intends to widen the talent pipeline and provides an opportunity for candidates from under-represented groups to gain access to panel or committee positions and/or as Non-Executive Directors or Chairs.

Social Mobility

Working with organisations including Access Aspiration, we host Business Insights events for students aged 16-18 years from low income backgrounds, providing career support and guidance as they enter their final years of school education.

Staff considering retirement or reducing hours

We welcome people of all ages to come and work with us.

We are supportive of the increasing numbers of our staff who are working beyond
‘customary’ retirement ages and consider their requests to work flexibly, or on reduced hours, to retrain or put themselves forward for new positions.

We also support colleagues who wish to gain further insights into managing the transition into retirement, considering their options and planning for the future.
