In its 2026-27 Business Plan, Britain's rail regulator and monitor of National Highways explains how it will protect rail passengers and road users, while itself transforming for the biggest shake-up of the railways in a generation.

The Channel Tunnel Group Limited (CTGL also known as Eurotunnel) has today been fined £2.25 million after pleading guilty to an offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, which followed an investigation and prosecution by industry regulator the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR), the rail regulator, has authorised three new stations on the Camp Hill Line in south Birmingham at Moseley Village, Kings Heath and Pineapple Road, clearing the way for passenger services to return to the line for the first time in more than 80 years. The stations are due to open on Tuesday 7 April 2026.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR), the rail regulator, has authorised Bedlington Station in Northumberland - the final station to reopen as part of the Northumberland Line - ahead of its planned opening to passengers on Sunday 29 March.
