Summary
The ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the freight train derailment at Audenshaw on 6 September 2024 shows that they are not conducting their undertaking in such a way as to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, that train passengers and other persons not in their employment who may be affected thereby are not exposed to risks to their health or safety as they do not have appropriate arrangements in place to ensure that track maintenance activities which are needed to manage train derailment risks are effectively planned, organised, monitored and reviewed.
