ORR Inquiry concludes passengers let down by rail industry failures

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR), chaired by Stephen Glaister, has today published its interim Inquiry report into what caused the May 2018 timetable disruption, which led to passengers enduring delays and cancellations as they could not predict how long a journey may take, or even if it was possible to travel.

ORR requires action by Network Rail over timetabling failures

This contributed to massive disruption in May for many passengers.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) today published its findings and analysis from an investigation into Network Rail's performance delivery to Southern, Govia Thameslink (GTR) and in Scotland in 2014-15, which found that Network Rail breached its licence.

December 2014 engineering overruns investigation

We carried out an investigation into severe disruption on 27 and 28 of December 2014 to passengers travelling into or out of King's Cross and Paddington stations. Over the two days we estimate that more than 115,000 passengers were affected in some way by this disruption.
